Cops probe possible alcohol-related crash

Police found alcohol at the scene of a one-vehicle crash on Woodhaven Road that claimed the life of a Bristol man early Sunday.

Jose Manuel Perez-DeJesus, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene after flipping his 1984 Ford pickup truck over a guardrail on the eastbound side of the expressway at the Knights Road exit shortly after 2 a.m., said Sgt. Albert Gramlich of the accident investigation division.

No other injuries were reported.

Police found an unspecified type of alcoholic beverage inside the truck, but have not determined if the driver was under the influence at the time of the crash. ••
